چکیده
This report summarizes the technical work of the Mathematical and Computational Sciences Division (MCSD) of NIST's Information Technology Laboratory. Part I (Overview) provides a high-level overview of the Division's activities, including highlights of technical accomplishments during the previous year. Part II (Features) provides further details on eight particular projects of particular note this year. This is followed in Part III (Project Summaries) by brief summaries of all technical projects active during the past year. Part IV (Activity Data) provides listings of publications, technical talks, and other professional activities in which Division staff members have participated. Cover photo. We are grateful to Robin Bickel for collecting the information and organizing the first draft of this report.

متن کاملA mathematical model for the multi-mode resource investment problem
This paper presents an exact model for the resource investment problem with generalized precedence relations in which the minimum or maximum time lags between a pair of activities may vary depending on the chosen modes. All resources considered are renewable. The objective is to determine a mode and a start time for each activity so that all constraints are obeyed and the resource investment co...
متن کاملTime consistent fiscal policies in a Ramsey economy
This paper revisits a well-known case of optimal fiscal policy in a Ramsey model where consumer utility is defined over consumption and public goods. We show that normalising the size of the population to one eliminates the scope for active policy-making since the decentralised equilibrium coincides with social planning. Then, we modify the model to allow for a population of N > 1 agents, where...
متن کاملCapturing Outlines of Planar Generic Images by Simultaneous Curve Fitting and Sub-division
In this paper, a new technique has been designed to capture the outline of 2D shapes using cubic B´ezier curves. The proposed technique avoids the traditional method of optimizing the global squared fitting error and emphasizes the local control of data points. A maximum error has been determined to preserve the absolute fitting error less than a criterion and it administers the process of curv...

According to a method of earnings management activities that administrators can manage reported earnings from the definition of real activity. In particular they can be located across time and activities in a way that accounting period to achieve a certain revenue target. Conservative attitudes of auditors in presenting their views about the independence of the auditor can considered as a remar...
